Monthly Tournament – Held on the Last Saturday of the Month

Online Registration – Entry Fee $43 – By Friday 12midnight deadline

2. Returning players can register by Email or TEXT MESSAGE.  Send us this info and pay at the tournament.

Register at Tournament. On-Site Entry Fee $50 – By 9:30am Saturday morning deadline

Registering and paying at the tournament site ends at 9:30am Saturday; We accept Credit Cards, PayPal, CashApp, Zelle.

• Must be a USCF Member to play in the Tournament. Join/Renew USCF (United States Chess Federation) at the tournament.  Purchase a New Membership at Registration.
• 1/2 Point Bye is available; if notified before Round 2. A bye is when a player wants to skip a round, not play a game.

A Cincinnati Tornado is a one-day chess tournament. 

You will play four chess games.  Beginner-friendly tournament.

• 4-Round Swiss Tournament. USCF Membership Required
• Time Control: G/45  d/5; Each player receives 45 minutes with a 5-second delay on their clock. 
• We provide all the Chess Clocks & Chess Sets
• Cash Prizes and Chess Merch Awards are given at the end of the tournament based on your final score. One point for each win and 1/2 point for a draw.  Prizes Fund based on 70 players.

Round Start Times:
Round #1: 10:00am     
Round #2: 12:30pm

Round #4: 4:30pm 

Choose a Section To Play In:

Open Section – Includes the  Master Bounty Prize; Any player can “play up” into the Open Section; no rating restrictions 

Under 1601 Section – USCF rating must be lower than 1601 to play in this section

Under 1001 Section – Great for first-time tournament players, lower-rated players and beginners.

USCF rating must be lower than 1001 to play in this section

Chess Community Gathering

• Hang Out & Analyze;  Play Casual Chess Games in the Skittles room. TVs are in the Skittle rooms
• Enjoy Good Food. We cook hot meals and serve lunch. 
• Buy Chess Merch and Chess Equipment 
• Watch the Tournament up close. Spectators are allowed.
• Chess Social Life.

We are looking for volunteers to help with the clean-up; putting chairs and tables away.  Please email us if you can help.  We appreciate it!!

Prizes are awarded based on points earned from winning or drawing games in the tournament. 

A perfect score is 4.0, winning all four games. 

Open Section:                         

• 1st Place – $200 
• 2nd Place – $150              
  Top Under 2001/Class Prize – $100              
  Top Under 1801/Class Prize  – $100
• Master Bounty Prize – $100 

Master Bounty Prize: Win your game against the #1 Master in the tournament and win $100. If you draw the Master, win $50.  If the Master wins all the games, then he/she wins the $100.

Under 1601 Section:  

• 1st Place – $200 
• 2nd Place – $150   
• $100 – Class Prize(s). We give class prizes based on the number of players that enter the section and based on the ratings.

Under 1001 Section:  

• 1st Place – $200 
• 2nd Place – $150   
• $100 – Class Prize(s). We give class prizes based on the number of players that enter the section and based on the ratings.
