Mariemont Elementary After-School Chess Program Details
- Fall Session Starts Sept. 26 and Ends on Nov. 7, 2024. 6-Week Program. Directly after school.
- Held on Thursdays. 3:30pm – 4:30pm. 6-Week Program
- Grades: 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grades
- All Chess Equipment Is Provided – We provide chess sets, chess clocks, handouts, etc.
- The cost is $125
- The students have fun and it’s a social time. They learn to focus and they learn pretty fast (group learning), especially for beginners who are new to the game. We practice the principles and fundamentals of having a good chess game; which will stay with them for life. We learn about the chess world and do fun chess activities and matches, etc.
- We offer a connection to the Cincinnati chess community for students and their whole family to continue the chess journey.
Who is Coach Robert?
- Robert Chenault is the chess instructor and teaches chess in several Cincinnati Schools and gives private chess lessons.
- He runs the popular Kid’s Chess Club; Every Monday 5:30pm at the Wyoming Library. It’s free and open to the public; 30-50 people show up every week. Parents & kids play chess along with the Cincy chess community at the Kid’s Chess Club.
- Robert is a nationally ranked Expert chess player and a Community Organizer.
- He organizes monthly chess tournaments called Saturday Tornado and Sunday Chess G/60. All are welcome to hang out and play chess at his tournaments and meet the local chess community.
